I am about to undergo IVF#2 and want to keep a diary of the process.
About me: I am 35 years old. Married 5 years to David. We are from the UK but have lived in Washington DC for the past 4 years. His job brought us here. I have not been able to work during that whole time but have filled my time with: 3 surgeries for fibroids and endo, lots of visits to lots of RE's, one IUI attempt, 1 IVF attempt. Also, lots of volunteer work, dancing, yoga and a new career in web design.
IVF #2 is looming and is due to start in a couple of weeks. I don't feel too bad about it - and am actually quite excited.
We have changed RE's since the 1st cycle. Mainly due to the clinic that the other one used for the transfer - I just wasn't comfortable there and they didn't keep us informed atall of the progress of our embryos.
So, last week we had all of our blood tests. No news about the results of that so assume is all fine. Just having fun and games trying to get confirmation of the results of a PAP smear I had in march. The new RE office want this and I can't get it from the OBGYN. You would think this would be the easy part but its a bit of a headache.
I am also having acupuncture once a week. Have just come back from a session which was lovely, apart from one really painful needle in my stomach, which freaked out the acupuncturist I can tell you. It was all fine though and I ended up falling asleep - it was so relaxing.
So, the next couple of weeks I guess we will be sorting out all of the paperwork, drugs and insurance. I have just heard from the drug people, they are ready to ship. Just need them to confirm the total. Yikes!
